OOOPPSS I Did It Again>>>>

Did I remember correctly that I was NOT going to do it this year - celebrating for Noah's birthday? Oopps I did it again I was prompted to plan a party for Noah because of a silly Korean drama - actually am too embarrassed to share the story.

So, it started off with a simple Pizza Party for the kids. Sounds easy right? Kids come over, prepare some pizzas and then the adults came to eat. BUT, dad and mum thought, "Why don't we ask more people over, we have not had the chance to fellowship for so long?"

So, 7 became 15 became 20 became 25 and finally became 30++

Wow, we had a blast!

All simple junk food but loads of fun, laughter and catching up. And we had a multi-cultural party graced by Indonesians, Burmese, American, Japanese, Filipinos, Thai, Singaporeans.

We experienced a "2 loaves and 5 fishes" in our very own kitchen, it's simply amazing.

30 August - we dedicated our "new kitchen" to the Lord and it was a testimony of His Goodness to us.

Oops, we also celebrated Noah's 10th birthday - his first decade! Truly a big milestone for our Baby.

Weekly Meals Menu

Since the kitchen has been nicely revamped, we have been eating simple, home cooked meals.

Weekly trips to the market on weekends (alone, hmm...managed to drag Noah there today to help - didn't get the help I needed, in fact he was complaining a lot!) has been therapeutic. I get to decide what the family eats the whole week!
That's power I say ><

So, Siti (my helper) and me start by sorting out the food and organising in Tuppers.

Then, I start my planning.
Soups, steaming, grills ...

Healthy and yummy.... Noah gives us A+ daily for these meals, Pete comes home no matter how late for his meals. Makes our day!

Here's a snippet of what we are going to have this coming week.

Noah Sam - Social-Preneur

Sorry the above is such a badly taken picture.

S$ 2 to $ 4 - various chores .....

Let me take some time to introduce you to
Mr Noah Sam, CEO, HCOS (Heroic Community of Saving)

Noah has started this business alliance with some of his school friends. They are quite funny, they meet during recess, prepare some fantastic business plans (seriously, some are even better prepared than what my students can produce) and they make their own business cards. After school, they meet online to discuss their great plans.

I am thinking, my boy doesn't score Band 1s and fails Mandarin, but he is an extremely GOOD BUSINESSMAN. He is forward looking, knows stakeholders, understands Supply chain, does marketing, networking and budgeting.

Dear Mums reading this,
There are options for our children if they do not make it academically, take time to discover their other talents.

So, anyone one out there keen to invest in HCOS?
Noah will send you his Business Proposal!

The Old must be Cleared before the New is Built

I am celebrating my one-month old kitchen. The old kitchen is dated (been 8 years since we renovated it) and the termites were feasting on the wood. It was down to calling the Pest Control guys in every quaterly or parting with a HUGE sum of money - these days, spending money on renovations is a luxury. The spending on new kitchen won the toss up!

We endured
a) late night meetings with renovators to discuss designs

b) 5 weeks of dust

c) 5 weeks of no laundry and eating out

(thanks to Mum for helping, Sis/Sis-in-law for helping with laundry ... reno team, Sparky, extra helpers from Aunt and Sis ..... )

Our new kitchen is finally completed.

You know when the kitchen is a job well done when:

a) your son loves to stay in the kitchen

b) you overhear your son saying : "I wish this could be my room"

c) your dog makes his imprints at the entrance
